Aloha and welcome to my website

I have to share an e mail I recently received from a bride whose wedding I photographed on November 23, 2007

MAHALO NUI LOA to YOU Nick!!!!!!!!
WOW WOW WOW
You REALLY did an amazing job - we could not be more happy with what you achieved!
You really listened to what we wanted and we are thrilled!
You really captured the feel of that day......all of the love and the beauty and authenticity......you got it all and didn't miss a thing!
THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU!
We cried looking at them and just wanted to be back there again - those photos really captured the feelings of so many of those moments......
We will get you some copies of some of our photos and send them to you - there are some really good ones of you! YOU YOU!!!!
Again – thank you so much!
Didn't we luck out with the light????? It is just perfect in so many of them!
We love your manipulation too!
I am going to call you because I just have to thank you in person - you are amazing.
We can't wait to turn some of those into black and white - the contrast will be so good!!!
I will be in touch!
xxxTess

You can see Tess and Robs kauai wedding photos here. There were 524 edited images shot during a one hour assignment.

Tess and Rob are a photographers dream couple. They were totally authentic and at ease with each other and very much in love.

The wedding was scheduled for Lumahai beach on the north shore. When I got there the surf was huge and the wind was howling. Not the best of conditions. The minister suggested we move to Anini beach about twenty minutes to the east. The location was great, no wind and as you can see… we had a blast.

I have been photographing weddings and family beach portraits on Kauai for twenty years. I started my photo career in California working as a photojournalist for daily newspapers. I try to bring that discipline and style to my wedding and portrait photography.
